Cameroon internationals, Karl Toko Ekambi and Andre Zambo Anguissa have named in the African team of the year (2021) according to footafrica.com.
The Cameroon duo were sensational last season in their various clubs in Europe.
Karl Toko in the 2020/21 season, he scored 14 goals and six assists in 35 appearances for Lyon.
This season, he has already netted 5 league goals plus to two assists in 17 league matches. He’s also the current top scorer of this season’s Europa league with six goals in six matches.
In the international scene, Karl Toko scored two goals for Cameroon in 2021 that helped Cameroon to qualify for the final round of the World Cup Qualifiers.
For Zambo, he played for then English Premier league top flight side Fulham in the 2020/21 season, as he made 36 appearances and made three assist for the English side.
Being on loan at Italian Giants, Napoli the versatile midfielder has made 14 appearances for the Italian side.
The duo are already in Cameroon as they prepare to defend the colours of the indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
Also in the team of the year is Chelsea and Senegal goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.
