K’ogallo back at the summit.

Former Kpl champions Gor Mahia look set to to reclaim the Kpl trophy after trouncing over Chemilil Sugar 2-0 at thr Thika Municipal stadium.

Kogallo as they are fondly known came into the match high in spirits after winning the local derby against their arc rivals  AFC Leopards while on the other hand coming from a nil nil draw against Muhoroni Youth, Chemelil were looking forward to getting a draw.

Gor Mahia who were on attack mode drew first blood in the 17th minute when Timothy Otieno scored after dribbling past Chemelil defenders and ended up getting injured in the process.

Kogallo handled the first half so easily and it didnt take them long before they had the second goal as in the 38th minute former Western Stima Midfield hero Kenneth Muguna doubled the lead after getting a rebound from the Chemelil keeper Jairus Adiro.

The win now means that Gor Mahia are top of the premier league on goal difference as they share point with Posta Rangers with both having 22 points.

In the other matches of the day AFC Leopards lost 1-0 away to Sony Sugar at the Awendo Green stadium, while Tusker stole three points from Zoo a their home ground in Kericho, Bandari on the other end maintained their fine home form after beating league Nzoia Sugar at Mbaraki.

Thika united and Western Stima are holed up at the bottom of the league at position 17 and respectively.

Things did not end well for both sides as Western stima 1-0 to Kakamega Homeboys and Thika United too lost 2-1 to retailers Nakumatt.
