Mapinduzi cup 2018: day 10: Yanga edges Zimamoto (1-0 ) who bids farewell to the tournament

Zimamoto vs Young Africans
In a tasteless match of what looked to be a farewell match for Zimamoto and a gala match for Young Africans, assured of a seat in the semis of the mapinduzi cup tournament, Yanga (Young Africans) beat outgoing Zimamoto by 1-0. The lone goal was scored at the 61st minute by Emmanuel Martin Joseph, crowned the man of the match.

Apart from players sweating and running behind a ball, the little crowd that formed the low turn out at the Amaan stadium had little to view. Each team having a blink of a goal opportunity. At the 10th minute, Hafidh Barik Juma of Zimamoto placed a beautiful shot at the top right angle deviated into a corner by goalkeeper Rhamadhan Kabwili of Yanga.
The Yanga fans had to wait the 43rd minute for their first sensation as Matheo Anthony Simon shot on target to beat goalkeeper Nassor of Zimamoto but the goal was disallowed because of an alleged offside position.
Emmanuel Martin Joseph through a beautiful assist from Maka Edward on the right flank “corrected the mistake” by opening score at the 61st minute with a header, rising above the defenders from his 1,66cm height. This for the lone goal of the match which comforts Young Africans in their position of favourites.

Young Africans will face Singida United at 8:15pm before which Simba would have lock horns with Uganda Revenue Authority FC at 4:30pm tomorrow 8th January 2018.
