20 years old Cameroonian international,Mark OJONG has return to Cameroon after a successful season in the United States with San Antonio FC. The versatile Cameroonian midfielder who first starred in the United States Soccer League (USL) two seasons ago with Seattle sounders left Sounders for San Antonio in April.This season OJONG featured 24 times scoring 2 goals in all competition as a right back and as a defensive midfielder. His contribution to the team helped the team to a 2 nd place finish in the western conference to earn a playoff place but San Antonio FC knocked out in the quarter finals of the playoffs on post match penalties.
Speaking after their disappointing defeat San Antonio’s coach Powell singled out the midfielder and commended his easy adaption to the team’s philosophy and his versatility and football efficiency as a young lad.
Speaking to this reporter OJONG dedicated his successful season to God and thank all those who have been praying for him.
When questioned about his future he said “offers have been made by clubs he wouldn’t want to mention except that of San Antonio FC but he looks up to God for direction and leaves the final decision in the hands of his manager”
Mark OJONG featured twice for Cameroon in the 2016 CHAN in Rwanda while he was in the books of YOSA and says as a hard worker his dreams of representing the country is alive and he feels the pains when the country fails but believe the Lions would Roar Loudest in 2019
