After picking up another injury in their 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion last week, Joel Matip was diagnosed of an abductor injury which Will see him miss three weeks of action.
Joel Matip who provided an assist to Mane at the 12th minute to give Liverpool the lead against West Bromwich Albion, saw him limped off the pitch and was replaced by Williams at the 60 th minute.
According to Jurgen Klopp, the player will be out of action for three weeks.
“The normal situation for this kind of injury is around 3 weeks”, Klopp said.
Ever since joining Liverpool in 2016, his career at Anfield has been characterized by injury issues, reasons why he is yet to manage 30 league appearances in a single season for Liverpool.
Last season, he could only harvest just 13 games in all competitions and has so far managed just 8 league appearances this season.
However, Klopp expects Matip to spend around 3 weeks out, with their clash against Burnley on January 21, a likely return date for the player.
Matip has so far played 8 league games this season, scoring one goal plus to assists.
