Mborog Collins’ 81 minute wonder free kick helped Prisons FC of Buea clinched a point against Mount Cameroon FC of Buea, in a day 3 encounter of the South West Regional Championship.
The first ten minutes of the game was dominated by Mount Cameroon FC as poor communication from Prisons’ Fabrice Gwei, Aba Fadil and Tabi Junior almost caused the home boys to concede the games opener at the 10th minute.
Eight minutes later, the home boys had their own chance from Felix Mbombe, but shot went off target.
Mount Cameroon FC kept the possession in their command as Ekobe Sona almost capitalized from the blunder of Prisons’ keeper, Sameh but shot hit the side netting
Both sides had chances at the latter stages of the game but could not capitalized on their chances as it ended 0-0 at half-time.
The early stages of the Second half were indifferent from the first half, as both sides squandered chances to take the lead.
At the 50th minute, Raymond Messi of Mount Cameroon received the first booking of the match after he fouled a Prisons’ player.
Five minutes later, Kang Kelvin had another chance for the lava boys, but failed to capitalize as shot went off target for a goal kick to Prisons FC.
The Mountain finally erupted when a well taken corner from Dang Perez at the 63rd minute, found Ekobe Sona whose header was forced in by Kang Kelvin to give the lava boys the lead.
Being one goal down, Prisons FC made their first substitution to bring in Adomo Frank to replace Kifuh John, but Mount Cameroon FC were still in control as Kang Kelvin almost scored his second of the day after a horrible mistake, this time from the Prisons FC goalkeeper, Sameh.
At the 81st minute, mask man Mborog Collins, scored a brilliant free kick from a vintage position to give Prisons FC their equalizer.
Seeing Prisons FC getting some inspiration as the game gets to its sunset, player-coach, Mutia Jonathan came in place of Kang Kelvin to add some experience to his side but did not yield any fruit as the game ended 1-1.
It should be noted that, Prisons FC of Buea were without their head coach Enang Severin who was shown a red card in their last game against H. O Academy on match day two. Team manager, Stephen Wose was the man at the technical bench for the home boys.
The draw puts Prisons of Buea on the second spot in group A with 4 points in three matches, while Mount Cameroon FC has 1 point in three matches and are bottom of the group.
The first match between University of Buea FC vs Dynamic FC did not take place due to the fact that the latter was absent. This is the fourth consecutive game for Dynamic FC and are yet to answer present.
