Former Ghana 🇬🇭 International Mohammed Polo have called on the country’s football Association to give Asante Kotoko’s Etouga Mbella a black stars call up.
The former AS Fortuna forward has been a revelation since joining Ghanaian premier league side, Asante Kotoko this season.
The 21-year-old has so far scored 19 goals in 28 league matches for the 24 time Ghanaian champion this season – and he is three goals from breaking the Ishmael Addo’s 22-goal record.
His performance in the Ghanaian league has cut the attention of former Black Star player Mohammed Polo who is calling on the Ghanaian football authorities to give the Cameroonian 🇨🇲 a call up for the Black Stars.
“Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that. He is an African, he is playing in the Ghanian league, he is playing the highest level of football and he is doing well.
” In his country, no body saw him and if he’s come in our country and doing well in our league, it means we have given him the chance and so there’s nothing wrong with that”, Polo told a Beach FM in Ghana.
Should this happen, Etouga Mbella will become the second Cameroonian footballer to be offered a Ghanian nationality after Atem Valantine who played for Ghanian side Goldfield SC in the 2003/04 season.
His goalscoring performances have also cut the attention of Spanish clubs like Seville and Athletico Madrid.
