The 2021 national interpools finally kicked off at the Limbe Omnisports Stadium annex with two matches involving Pool A teams.
The first game saw Les Amis FC of Ngaoundere coming from one goal down to beat EFBC of Douala 2-1. EFBC of Douala were the first to open score at the 32nd minute through Orelien Ekanga to put the academicians in front.
The boys of Edwo’o Richard did not give up as they continued to mount pressure for their equalizer. It finally paid off when a EFBC’s goalkeeper blundered, and this caused his defender Kodji Mouctar to handle the ball in the penalty box, as the center referee pointed to the spot.
Aba Maigari of Les Amis made no mistake as he puts the ball into the back of the net for 1-1 at the brink of half time.
The second half was not good for the boys of Jean Jacques Ebentsi as substitute for Les Amis made it 2-1 in favor or the boys from the Adamawa Region
In the second game, it was Lausanne FC who had an easy ride over Kohi of Maroua as it ended 2-0 for the former. Lausanne FC opened scores at the 43rd minute Arthur Mankon and Frank Ateba made sure all three points were guaranteed for the boys of the Center region.
The competition continues tomorrow with one match schedule to take place at the Banjoun Municipal Stadium between Gazelle FA from the North Region against CPS De Bertoua, while FC Ebolowa is on stand by.
It should be noted that South West Regional flagbearers, Best Stars Academy will open their campaign on Wednesday September 22, 2021 against Rizierre FC from the west Region.
