Alain Thierry Akono, 25, has been in fine form since his departure from Tanzania outfit Azam FC to Malaysia top-flight side Negeri Sembilan.
The speedster helped his side win their very first game in the Liga Premier Malaysia via a 2-1 score – line against Johor Darul.
Just like he did at the 2020 Cameroon Premier Division where he was second highest goal scorer behind Leon Boyomo, the winger has started chasing numbers (statistics), yet again.
His strike today is his third in four games, and his first of the season; his other goals came at the group stages of the Malaysian cup, which Negeri Sembilan are still very much part of.
It is not just the goals for the winger per se, his three goals are accompanied by two assists; a record even the greats would be proud of.
Akono and co travel away to second placed
Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor Football Club, on Tuesday, for their second game in the Malaysian top-flight. Meantime, Negeri Sembilan are third placed in the 11 team tourney.
