Archived Photo

With the outbreak of the new Corona virus “Covid-19” in the world, the number of infections to about 160 thousand and the death of about 6 thousand people, it is imperative for every person to take care and guard against this deadly virus. A recent study at the University of Stamford, USA, enables you to check if you are infected or not with Corona with a daily procedure that takes just a few seconds.
Take a deep breath and keep it in for 10 or 15 seconds. If you can do this without coughing, then you are not infected with corona, but if you have a cough or cramps, see your doctor immediately.

Bamboutos to return home after two years

Afeseh Apong,

Sports Writer

Cameroon Elite One side, Bamboutos FC of Mbouda, will play their matches for the 2020_2021 football season, at the MTN arena in Mbouda.

According, the Mangwa Boys have taken the decision to return home, where they will have the backing of their thousands of fans.

Bamboutos FC has been playing their home games in the South West region of Cameroon, since the team was related to the elite two Championship at the end of the 2017 football season.

Throughout their stay in the elite two, the team relocated to Douala in the litoral region. But due to the construction of infrastructure to host the CHAN and AFCON in both the west and Litoral regions, the Mangwa Boys just like any other team based in Douala, was forced to play their home games in Limbe.

Coach Anicet Mbarga Foe brought the team back in the Elite one after just a season spend in the second tier. Though the tactician left for Astres of Douala, Coach Laurent Djam came in, but the Mangwa Boys did not change their location.

Bamboutos finished in the 2019_2020 season with 41 points, behind Colombe, Cotonsport and PWD. Noted to be the most popular club in the land in terms of fan base, Bamboutos will have the opportunity to reunite with their fan base and benefit from their relentless support.

Reports however suggest that the team will still be based in Douala, but my travel to Mbouda on match days, to host their home games. The team has been very active in the transfer market, as they target winning a silverware next season.

CAS Denies Kaizer Chiefs Immunity

Giovanni Wanneh,

Sports Writer

If there was any likelihood of the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) overruling FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber, it’s now been dashed to the wall. In fact, the ‘Chiefs’ have been treated as subjects.

In a four-paragraph press release from CAS, the Amakhosi will have to serve her FIFA ban, as the news has dealt a killer blow to the South African giants as seen below;

Lausanne, 27 October 2020 – the court of arbitration for sports (CAS) has issued the decision in the appeal filed by the Malagasy player Andriamirado Aro Hasina (the player) and the South African club Kaizer Chiefs FC (collectively, the appellants), against the decision rendered by the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) on 5 December 2019 (the challenged decision).

In such a decision, the FIFA DRC noted that the player and Kaizer Chiefs entered into a new contract when the player was still under contract with Fosa Juniors FC/Madagascar. Given these circumstances, the FIFA DRC concluded that the player unilaterally terminated the employment of the contract of Fosa Juniors FC without any just cause.

As a consequence, the player was ordered together with Kaizer Chiefs FC, to jointly and severally pay compensation of MGA 157’572’000 (approximately USD 40’000) to Fosa Juniors FC. In addition, a four-month period of ineligibility was imposed on the player, and Kaizer Chiefs FC was banned from registering any new players either nationally or internationally for two entire and consecutive periods.

The CAS panel in charge of this matter has dismissed the appeal and confirmed the challenged decision in its entirety.

Newly appointed Gavin Hunt will sort to lead the Glamour Boys as high as he can, in an utterly competitive league currently under siege from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Chiefs currently are 3 of 6 after one win in two, in the ongoing South African premier division.

Fatigue could be considered as one of the reasons why Kaizer Chiefs inexplicably lost their crown to Sundowns on the last day of the season. Kaizer Chiefs before then had led for more than half of the season.

Cameroon Lionness

The run of events (Covid-19) hasn’t covered any national selection in glory. Alain Djeumfa however, has had to improvise; turning around to bring on some sort of open camping method. is made to understand that; a queue of foreign-based professionals will join the team as time waves.
Cameroon found herself in this position after failing to avoid defeat against a well oiled Zambian machine, in the fifth and final qualifying round.
