The intermediate lions of Cameroon were held at home by resilient cranes (1-1) at the opening game of the PRE-CHAN Mini tournament.
The intermediate lions dominated the game with ball possession of 60% against 40 for Uganda but lacked the creativity upfront to convert actions into goals. Ondoa Edima Frank began the game in flying colours as he passed several defenders in the first minutes of the game but Oukine was unable to put the ball in the back of the net.
The Ugandans were more efficient as they succeeded to levy tally at the 70th minute after just 4 shots and one on target which found itself in the back of the net. The Cameroonians made 9 attempts but shots from Meyong, Ako Assomo , Ondoa and Tchuente Thierry all ended off target.
The Cameroonians committed more fowls as they were overtaken by the pace of the Ugandan forwards who couldn’t match the physicality of the Cameroonians but outplayed them in agility and intelligence.
The mini tournament continuous tomorrow with Zambia facing Niger.
