Premier League: Matip played the entire match for Liverpool in their 2-2 draw against Everton.

Cameroon international Joel Matip played the entire match for Liverpool in their 2-2 draw against Everton in the first Merseyside derby of the season.
Matip, who has been out of action since June due to injury was selected by Klopp in their match day 5 fixture against Everton, after the “Reds” were punished 7-2 by Aston Villa two weeks ago.

Goals from Mane, fit again after recovering from COVID-19 and Salah were canceled out by Michael Keane and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Liverpool were denied a late winner to Jordan Henderson after Mane was ruled to be fractionally offside by VAR.
It should be noted that, Virgil Van Dijk was hobbled off after a collision with Everton’s goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford.
The game however, ended 2-2 with Joel Matip playing the entire game and with the injury of Van Dijk, the former Shalke 04 defender will be sure to lead the back line for Liverpool in their upcoming matches.
