Cameroon league one champions, PWD Social football Club of Bamenda have arrived the Libyian capital, Tripoli ahead of their double header clash against Al Ahly.
The Abakwa Boys left Cameroon at 4am on Monday morning, and touched down at the Tripoli International airport at 5:20pm local time, after a transit in Instabul, Turkey. The team is currently lodged at the BAB AL BAHR hotel in Tripoli.
Team PWD left Cameroon with a 30 man delegation, headed by club’s president, Pascal Abunde. The delegation is made up of 19 players, and team officials.
Al Ahli will host PWD on Wednesday November 18, 2020 at the Tripoli International stadium in a friendly game. Both sides will again clash on Saturday November 21, before the Abakwa Boys return back to Cameroon.
Both clubs are currently preparing for the CAF champions league. With the 2020_2021 football season in Cameroon yet to kick-off, coach David Pagou will use the two games against Al Ahli to put his boys in match condition and give them a full test of Continental football, ahead of their CAF champions league preliminary round fixture against South African giants, Kaizer Chiefs scheduled later this month and early December.
Before leaving Cameroon, the Abakwa Boys played a zero all tie against fellow elite One side, FOVU of Baham, in what was the club’s 13th preseason game.
In the 13 games, PWD has recorded six wins, four draws and three defeats, scoring 25 goals and conceding 13.
