Reasons Why Some Senior Lions will not make the Netherlands trip.

Indomitable Lions coach Antonio Conceicao has reduced the 32 man preliminary list to 24 to be part of the trip to the Netherlands where, they will have a one week training camp plus two high profile friendlies.

The previous list of 32 players was dominated by players based in Europe,  which many criticize why the coach never called players from Asia, Africa and other parts of the world.

Reasons why Players based out of Europe were dropped.

-The Dutch government had passed travel restrictions on players who are not based in Europe and this explains why players like Christian Bassogog and others could not make the list of 32.

In the list of 24, some big names like captain Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Nicholas Nkoulou, Njie Clinton and others based in Europe were dropped for several reasons.

Reasons why Some big names based in Europe were dropped.

-One of the reasons why some big names were dropped from the Dutch expedition was because,  the Dutch government have placed restrictions on some players coming from countries heavily affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

This explains why, the lights of Njie Clinton from Russia,  Nicholas Nkoulou from Italy and others based in Europe were dropped.

-Again some players are busy finalizing new deals with their new clubs. This explains why a player like Vincent Aboubakar is focus with finalizing his deal with Turkish giants,  Besiktas.

Also, Captain Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting could not make the final list due to the fact that, he is without a club at the moment.  In fact he justifies his reason why he will not make it to the Netherlands expedition.

“I had a discussion with the coach and we reached an agreement that I should be dropped from the team since I currently don’t have a club. I have to make way for others and concentrate on getting myself a new club during this transfer window”.
