26 year old forward Nlend Samuel wants out of Union Sportive of Douala according to sources linked to the club.
The former Intermediate Lions vice captain has been away from the team’s training sessions since late December 2020. The reason for his absence; he wants a new bumper deal, after his two year contract expired.
It seems a berserk decision, giving that the former Al Ittihad man has been linked to more lucrative deals out of country, and reportedly turned down all, most notably Al Hillal of Sudan.
Nlend Samuel has been the club’s top scorer for some seasons now, including last season, netting 8 goals for the Nasara Gamakai.
Union Sportive of Douala begin their campaign on Sunday, Match 7 in group A, against Djiko FC. Nlend Samuel’s absence could be huge for the five time Elite One winners and coach Richard Towa.
