Bayern Munich will play Union Berlin behind closed doors on Saturday and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge wants fans to stay away from the stadium.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has urged Bayern Munich supporters to avoid travelling to Saturday’s behind-closed-doors clash with Union Berlin amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The German Football League announced on Friday all nine Bundesliga games will go ahead this weekend, before a proposed two-week hiatus comes into effect from March 17.
Bayern midfielder Thiago Alcantara hit out at the decision for games to be played in Germany, with all of Europe’s other major leagues being halted with immediate effect.
And Rummenigge has pleaded with his club’s fanbase to resist the urge to congregate outside Stadion An der Alten Forsterei on Saturday.
“Please don’t come to Berlin. Please do not gather in front of the stadiums,” he said at a pre-match news conference on the eve of the game.

“We have given our employees rules of conduct several times and issued disinfectants. If there are any abnormalities, they will of course be tested immediately.
“If a player or staff member tests positive, everyone must be in quarantine – that’s a requirement.”
Bayern’s Champions League last-16 second leg with Chelsea next week has also been called off by UEFA and Rummenigge is expecting a major knock-on effect.
“Nobody can predict how long the situation with the virus will remain the same,” he said.
This is crazy. Please stop fooling around and land on reality. Let’s be honest, there are much more important priorities than any sport.

“Everyone should understand what ending the season would mean for clubs. Most of the revenue comes from the TV sector.
“If this sector were to fail, there are fears that many small and medium-sized clubs will experience liquidity problems. We hope this will end quickly.”
Bayern have won 10 of their last 11 Bundesliga games and boss Hansi Flick insisted it is business as usual for his side ahead of their trip to the German capital.
“We will train today, play tomorrow and then we’ll see,” he said. ” We have to make sure that we keep the team fit. We just have to keep adapting to new situations.
“We’ll prepare professionally. Anything else that comes after that, we’ll see and then decide.
“We will treat the matchday as professionally as we normally would. We have to accept this and focus on the next game against Union.
“We also have social responsibility. We have to try to get the virus to spread as slowly as possible.
“In the end it is a matter of mentality. Whoever has watched the games with no spectators – they are not normal games. Our job is to prepare the team and focus on football.”

Bundesliga: Leroy Sane Returns Home And Signs A 5 Years Deal With Bayern Munich
By Elvis Kang Sports Writer, Cameroon
The German international Leroy Sane returns home and signed 5 years deal with the Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich this Friday 3 July 2020 after a contract talks between him and the management of Manchester city failed to push through
According to Sky Sports and the BBC, the Bundesliga champions did not give the transfer fee, Bayern and City agreed on a fee of £54.8 million. But German daily Bild claim the fee is around 50 million euros.
The 24-year-old spent four years at City, winning two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, two League Cups, and two Community Shields, but European success eluded him.
His transfer became an open secret as Guardiola revealed earlier this week that Sane was likely to leave after rejecting a new contract offer with a year left on his existing deal at City.
Sane scored 39 goals in 135 appearances in all competitions for City after joining from Bundesliga club Schalke in 2016.
His arrival on Wednesday in Bavaria was much hyped with reporters at Munich airport using smartphones to film the landing of a private jet from England before Sane was whisked away for his medical.

It should be noted that He is not eligible to feature in this Saturday’s German Cup final against Bayer Leverkusen in Berlin but will start preparing for the 2020/21 season next week, the club has said.
Sane has 21 caps and five goals for Germany but was a shock omission from the squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia when the holders bowed out in the group stage.
Sane is Bayern’s third new signing for next season alongside French teenage defender Tanguy Nianzou Kouassi from Paris Saint-Germain and goalkeeper Alexander Nuebel from Schalke, both of which were free transfers.

The German League and Federation have announced a relaxation of certain rules adopted against the coronavirus.
Substitutes, staff members as well as members of the club delegations in the stands are no longer required to wear the mask, “on condition of respecting a distance of 1.5 meters between people” .
The new rules come into force this weekend and concern the Bundesliga, the Second and the Third Division as well as the Women’s Championship and the German Cup finals.
