S W Cup Of Cameroon Preliminaries: Third Round Results, Continental FA’s Unbeaten Run Broken.

South West Cup of Cameroon preliminaries.

The third round of the South West cup of Cameroon preliminaries have been played today Sunday April 18, 2021 in stadia across the region,  recording some interesting results. 

In Tiko, one of last season’s south west representatives at the cup of Cameroon,  Options Sport Academy defeated Mount Cameroon FC of Buea 1-0 to book their place in the fourth and final Phase of the competition. Options Sport Academy are in their search for a second consecutive ticket to the cup of Cameroon.

Still in Tiko, Continental FA’s unbeaten run finally came to end as they were defeated  4-5 on penalties by Best Stars Academy of Limbe.  The game ended 1-1 after 90minutes.  This is  Continental FA’s first defeat in over 13 months, but their unbeaten run in the league is still in tact. For Best Stars Academy,  they are in search for a second cup of Cameroon ticket in three years.

In Buea, EEMSA of Tiko beat NQSA 2-1 to book their place in the final phase of the competition. A brace from Martin Egbe was enough to see the academicians from Tiko emerged victorious.  It should be noted that EEMSA ended the game with 10 men.

Still in Buea,  Cinyodev FA beat Prisons FC of Buea 1-0 as they also continue their quest for a second ticket to the cup of Cameroon in three years. A 94th minute goal from captain,  Graham Mbong ensured the elimination of the home boys.

In Kumba, Kumba Lakers beat NENFA 2-1 at the Kumba municipal stadium, to book their place in the final phase of the competition.

The draws for the final phase will take place on Tuesday April 20, 2021 at the South West Fecafoot secretariat in Buea. Continental FA have been reinstated back into the competition as best losers.
