Continental FA have completed a treble over rivals Buea United in the opening match of the South West Regional mini inter pool, with a 2-1 win.
This is Continental FA’s third victory over rivals Buea United this season, having beaten them twice in the league.
The game began with Continental FA playing their normal possession football, as they materialize their chances at the 19th minute, through Augustine Tabe to put the gra gra boys ahead.
Buea United, got their pieces and moved on, as they search for an equalizer. They had a chance to level score from the penalty spot, but top scorer Mofa Bosten missed from the spot at the 22 nd minute.
The boys of coach Agbor Emmanuel had some chances to get their equalizer, but could not hit the target.
The mountain boys however, did not give up as Agbor Lionel, Ngalame Clovis and Marcus Nkwelle linked up to set up Ngalame Clovis who scored a brilliant equalizer at the 39th minute.
Upon resumption of the second half, coaches of both sides began casting their cards, Mofa Bosten was replaced by Festus Kinsley for Buea United.
Festus Kinsley, who could have been the man to seal Buea United first win over their rivals in five occasions, had his chances squandered, as the game stayed at 1-1.
Still at 1-1, Buea United took control of the game, Ngalame Clovis and substitute Festus Kinsley squandered glearing chances that would have sealed the game for Buea United.
The dust was finally settled at the 87 th minute, as Jefter Arrey masterminded a beautiful cross to set up substitute Njie Ndive to seal a third consecutive win over Buea United.
It should be noted that, this is Continental FA’s fourth consecutive win over Buea United in five meetings. The last time Buea United won a game against Continental FA in the league was on June 9, 2019 in a day 8 match of the 2018/19 season, which ended 3-0 to Buea United.
The next assignment for Continental FA is against EEMSA, while Buea United faces Best Stars Academy of Limbe. Both games comes up on Thursday July 29, 2021.
