Best Stars have defeated LIFCA 4-2 on penalties to clinch their fourth crown as South West champions. The game ended 0-0 after 90minutes.
Both teams went in for an attacking system of 4-3-3. Augustine Tchoupo made some changes from his line up of the last game, as he brought in Kinde, Edia and simon Achuo, while Coach Djoufack brought in Likanjo who is making his first start at this year’s mini inter pools.
The game started with both teams studying each other, but Best Stars had the first real chance from a set piece, but Mafany could not fine Ferdinand at the 4th minute.
LIFCA took over dominance as they mounted preasure through Rene Akoti, but his cross went wide at the 6 minute.
LIFCA again knocking for the cutting raiser, as the shot of Gwet hit the wood work at 8 th minute. LIFCA again seems the better side in the first ten minutes with Gwet’s header missing the target after a beautiful cross from Itare Ngulle.
Both teams squandered chances at both ends, with Issah failing to capitalize on a Luiz Ngulle cross, while Best Stars came so closed through an individual efforts from Lyonga but shot saved by goalkeeper Che Che at the 18th minute.
At the 21st minute, Rene Mokette lost a glearing chance which saw him put the ball over the cross bar despite an almost empty net of Best Stars.
Best Stars Academy came so close at the 36th minute through an overhead kick from Ferdinand after benefiting from a Lyonga cross but shot went wide.
LIFCA continue to mount pressure but the Best Stars defense continue to prove why they are the best defense in the mini inter pools, as it ended 0-0 at half-time.
The resumption of the Second half is indifferent, as the two coaches are yet to throw in their cards from the bench.
LIFCA again with Gwet squandering another glearing opportunity but Teteh Evans was on the alert as he makes the save at the 53rd minute.
Despite the introduction of new legs by the two coaches, chances were still squandered as Lyonga, Che, Essuka and Eta squandered their chances for Best Stars, while Gwet, and Mokette squandered theirs for LIFCA .
