S W Regional Championship: Continental FA vs Buea United Preview.

South West Regional Division Two championship.

Continental FA will be looking forward to extend their unbeaten run to 9 games when they take on local rivals, Buea United this weekend.

Stakes of The Match.

A win for Continental FA will see them move to ten points, one above Buea United,  as they eye mini inter pool qualification.  They will also be looking forward to extend their unbeaten run in the league to 8 league games.

While a win for Buea United will move them to 12 points and extend the points gab to 5 points at the top of Pool B and will also extend their unbeaten run to three league games this season.

Head to Head.

The last time these two teams met, was exactly one year ago on match day three of last season; where Continental FA beat Buea United 1-0 to top Pool A before the league was cancelled due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Recent Form.

Continental FA

The Gra Gra boys are the team to test defeat in the South West Region in the past 13 months.  In fact, they have gone a total of 8 league games unbeaten(7wins and 1draw) and 10 unbeaten in all competitions(9 wins and 1draw).  So, a win or a draw against Buea United will see them go 9 league games unbeaten.

Buea United

The Mountain boys on their part, are no small name in the league. They have lost just two games in their last 8 league matches ( 6wins, 2 defeats).

Players To Watch. 

Continental FA

Coach Eyongeta will have to rely on one of his top scorers of the last cancelled season,  Robert Mbungkah who has been the teams mask man in the last two years but Dieudonne Younyi whose pace and good dribbling skills will also be an advantage to this Continental FA side. Ndive Njie and Alfred Agbor are also players to watch.

Buea United. 

Coach Agbor Emmanuel who has begun the season with a very young squad, says he believes in the young squad.

“Yes, it’s a very young squad”

“I believe in about two years time, that is when they will start to make a name for themselves”, Coach Agbor Emmanuel. 

He will have to rely on Mayi Collins who was excellent in their last game against Catholic University SA,  plus the two goal scorers: Agbor Oben and Marcus Nkwelle to give the defenders of Continental FA some nightmares. Valentine Ayuk and Dirane Foube will be key in protecting the backline of Buea United.

Buea United top Pool B with 9 points in three games while Continental are second with 7 points in three games.
