
Indomitable lions all time top scorer, Samuel Eto’o has officially taking over the mantle as FECAFOOT President.
This was in held at the conference hall of the head quarters of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) on Monday January 17, 2021 in Tsinga, Yaounde.
The former Inter Milan striker, succeeds former President Prince Seidou Mbombo Njoya, after a hotly contested elections in December, where Eto’o won 43 votes to Mbombo Njoya’s 31 votes.
Despite his late coronation, the four time African player of the year has already began work as FECAFOOT President. He has already set the start date for the new football season in the country, and has been actively involved in Cameroon’s participation in the ongoing TotalEnergies Africa cup of nations.
The two AFCON winner scored 56 goals for Cameroon’s indomitable lions in more than 100 appearances for Cameroon, where he won two AFCON titles, and Olympic goal medal in the 2000 Olympic games in Sydney, Australia.
