Senegal: Former Sports Ministers Support Senghor’s CAF Presidential Bid.

A national committee has been set up by former sports ministers in Senegal to support Augustine Senghor's CAF Presidential Bid.

The sporting milieu of Senegal through former minister of Sports Malick Gackou and minister Matar Ba have gathered several sports stakeholders in Senegal to rally behind Senghor’s CAF Presidential Bid. 

Amongst the other top personalities is the former Prime minister Souleymane Ndene Ndiaye, the vice-president of the national assembly Abdoulaye Makhtar Diop, former sports ministers,  Mbagnick Ndiaye, Malick Gackon, Mamadou Lamine Keita, Minister advisers Ndongo Ndiaye, Youssou Ndour and former minister Serigne Mbacke.

The committee also includes former internationals like Elhadji Diouf, Kalidou Fadiga and Pierre Goudiaby Atepa and other several football and sporting structures in Senegal.

It should be noted that this committee has been created to totally invest in the electoral campaign to ensure that Augustine Senghor heads the pan African Football organization.

Augustine Senghor is the president of the Senegal football federation,  a position he has been controlling since 2009.

He also doubles as one of the members of the CAF executive committee.

With the suspension of incumbent,  Ahmad the Senegalese FA boss will have to dribble pass Patrice Motsepe of South Africa, Jacques Anouma of Cote d’Ivoire,  and Ahmed Yahya of Mauritania to head the confederation of African Football (CAF).

The elections are build for March 12, 2021.
