Shaba, brace propels KCCA to Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16

Uganda Cup champions KCCA FC took a short trip across the capital to face Simba fc on a sunny sunday evening.
With the favourite tag on their shoulders, KCCA started the better side but was never going to be a walk in the park as Simba’s experienced troops thwarted any threat poured at them.
Simba fc grew into confidence and in the 24th minute, Captain Robert Kimuli put them ahead with a header.
On the 28th minute Shaban Mohammed leveled matters and scores remained unchanged heading into halftime.
On second half resumption, KCCA FC made a change replacing Ibrahim Wamannah with Denis Okot and later on KCCA poster boy Allan Okello coming on for Jackson Nunda.
With the game more likely looking to head to spot kicks, new boy Shaban Mohammed took matters in his hands heading the visitors into a well deserved lead in the 78th minute to mark his second on the sweltering evening.
The final whistle saw KCCA FC book their slot in the round of 16.
Elsewhere, Water fc were eliminated by surprise package Seeta United fc by a lone goal scored by trickly winger Herbert Luganda in the 21st minute.
WATER FC 0 – 1 SEETA UNITED FC
MBARARA CITY FC 3 – 0 NABITENDE FC.
Round of 32 returns on 22/02/2018.
