Former captain of the indomitable Lions,  Stephane Mbia Etoundi has call it quit with Chinese side, Wuhan Zall.

The former Seville midfielder joint the China base, five  months ago and he is on his way out of the club, as he eyes a move back to European football.

But today, with the health situation,  the suspension of the championship and the problems that this generates for the Chinese clubs, it is time for me to turn the page and fine a competitive environment for a European championship, where I intend to continue with my career from the last season”, Mbia revealed to foot Mercato.

A new challenge indeed, Stephane Mbia spent 5 seasons in the Chinese Super league playing close to 88 games,  scoring 11 goals.

The 35 year-old  However still believes he has a role to play in Europe despite his age.

“I really want to be part of a great project and contribute my  experience and leadership to the team.

While in his days in Europe,  Stephane Mbia played for Stade Rennais, Olympique Marseille, FC Seville,  Trabzonsport and Queens Park Rangers; where he made 395 appearances,  scoring close 37 goals.

He also won the Europa league twice with FC Seville and a French Ligue 1,  3 French cup, a French super cup  with Olympique Marseille, and has played 70 times for the green, red and yellow of Cameroon.
