Tayiwoh Princewill helps Stade Renard of Melong Keep first clean sheet of the season

Sometimes in football some coincidence are too hard to believe. After serving as back up keeper for the first 3 games this season, Tayiwoh Princewill was called to full duty in Melong in the match day 4 fixture against Aigle Royal.

Just like the case of last season at Victoria United, shot stopper Tayiwoh Princewill made his debut for his New club Stade Renard of Melong yesterday in the day four fixture which saw Aigle Royal hold their host Stade Renard of Melong to a goalless draw.

It was the young lads first taste of top flight football since his switch from amateur side Victoria United.

Tayiwoh showed class and composure through out the game making 3 crucial saves as Stade Renard of Melong went for 90 minutes without conceding a goal for the first time this season.

Aigle looked hungry for a goal all game but against a goalkeeper(Tayiwoh) they refused to sign in January because of his inexperience, life was always going to be difficult as Tayiwoh had more than motivation all afternoon.

The game ended goalless. Another Victoria United player last term, Banga Frederick came off the bench as a second half substitute for Stade Renard and won a penalty which was missed by forward Tchawa Christian.

Speaking to after the game the young goalkeeper confessed he was nervous at start but words of encouragement from his team mates and his coach plus God’s guidance was all he used to settle in quickly and says he hopes for more opportunities in the days ahead while working had to improve.
