Togolese Duo 5 star performance help Union Sportive break the New Stars Jinx

A great performance from two 23 year old Togolese helped Union Sportive Douala beat New Stars of the same city in a derby.

Both clubs came into the delayed day 2 encounter after suffering defeats in their last game and were ready to battle it out for 3 points.

New Stars of Douala seem to have started business as usual when Alain Nandjou Nganle scored within 2 minutes of kick off.

But a pair of dead ball assist from Star defender James Olufade Adewale of Union Sportive of Douala a former New Stars player gave Union Sportive of Douala a goal in either half.

Union Sportive goals were scored by in form Togolese midfielder Serge Seko. 23 year old Seko who has been capped 3 times by Togo has been on fine form since the beginning of the season with 2 goals and 1 assist to his name in 4 games.

23 year old defender, James Olufade assist provider for both goals has equally been on scintillating form this season. He has 2 assists to his name and put up a man of the match performance in Union’s 2 nil win over Feutcheu FC in match day 4. His roots justify his form. Olufade’s elder brother (Adekanmi Olufade) was in the Golden generation of Lille players that wrote a champions league tale for themselves between 2004/2005.

The Union duo join are in Union with another 23 year old bright light with Togolese roots. Benjamin Hedjacko is eligible to play for Cameroon or Togo. Benjamin spent much of his early life in Togo, born to a Togolese mother and a Cameroonian father.

Another Togolese making news in Cameroon is, Goalkeeper Bassa Djeri Sabairou of Cotonsport who has had some great moments in the Cotonsport goal.

The 3 Togolese are certainly enjoying their football in Cameroon the country with whom Current Togolese boss Claude Marie Le Roy won the AFCON in 1988.

The win was USD first win against New Stars in 3 years. USD take on Unisport of Bafang this weekend.
