The local Stallions of Burkina Faso have beaten the warrior’s of Zimbabwe 3#1, to keep their quarter final dreams alive.
Goals from Issouf Sosso, Clavert Kiendrebeogo and Issiaka Ouedraoga secured all three points for the stallions, despite Partson Jaure’s consolation.

A purposeful Burkina Faso side looked to bounce back from their day one defeat, as they monopolize play in the first quarter of the game.
Issouf Sosso put the Stallions ahead at the 14 minute, but their joy was short lived, as Partson Jaure fired in the equalizer at the 23rd minute.
Zimbabwe’s goalkeeper Chinani Simbabrashe received the first yellow card of the game, when he came off his line swiftly, to thwart away a move from Burkina Faso’s Clavert Kiendrebeogo.

The last quarter of the first segment was less intense, as the half ended all squared.
Upon resumption for the second half, Chinani Simbabrashe was quickly called to action, as he denied Mohammed Ouattara’s point blank header.
Zimbabwe’s resilience never lasted long, as Clavert Jean Kiendrebeogo put the Burkinabés ahead at the 53rd minute.
Issiaka Ouedraoga made it 3#1 with a calm finish at the 67 minute, before he was subbed off for Rene Zoungrana. For Zimbabwe, King Nadolo and Tafadzwa Jaravani ceded their places to Ronald Chitiyo and Chirinda Obriel.

Burkina Faso held tight and secured all three points, and are now just one point adrift of group leaders Cameroon and Mali.
The stallions will face host Cameroon on Sunday in a do or die game, with Cameroon needing just a draw to qualify for the quarter final, while it will be a must win game for Burkina Faso.
