CAF women’s player of the year runner-up Njoya Nchout Ajara was in on the act twice, as her Valerenga side put 7 past KI in the first qualifying round of the women’s Champions league.

The outcome of Wednesday’s game did not flatter the home side, neither was it harsh on the visitors.

Ki started to capitulate after just 23 minutes, when Synne Jensen converted from the spot to gift the home side a well deserved one – nil lead.

The floodgates then opened as Nchout doubled tally for Valerenga after just two minutes. Thomsen scored the last of Valerenga’s first half goals, before the halftime interval.

A rather bedraggled KI side couldn’t change their fortunes in the second half.

Nchout Ajara took her season’s tally to a dozen (12), completing her double at the 70th minute after the pose.

25-year-old Andrine Tomter scored at the 79 minute, before Catherine Joan Bott made the score even more humiliating for the visitors.

KI in search of a consolation to make the score honourable, left spaces in – behind which was capitalised upon by Rikke Bogetveit Nygard for 7 – 0 Valerenga.

Up next in the champions League for Ajara and co next week, are Stabaek. Valerenga visits Lyn in their next Toppserien fixture on Saturday.

We Will Work To Win Next Season – PSG President

Published

on

By Etienne Mainimo
The President of the Paris Saint Germain, PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi says his club will work extremely hard to win to win the UEFA Champions League.
After PSG lost 0-1 to Bayern Munich in the finals of USFA on Sunday August 23, Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisted that he is proud of his team and that his team will be back soon
“We will work to win next season. Tonight, we believe in it more than before. I promise we’re going to win the Champions League. We had a great season. We reached the finals, we won four trophies. We are sad, we are disappointed but there is a positive side,” Nasser Al-Khelaifi told RMC Sport.
According to the President, “it was very close. I am proud of my players. We had a great season, a great tournament here. We had everything we needed to win but that is football.”
“Players, honestly, everybody’s coming out with their heads held high. They have created something. We played against the great Bayern that is something. They are one of the best teams in the world we lost 0-1. You have to improve on little things. This our first and eleven for Bayern,” Nasser Al-Khelaifi said.
The President however stated that, “we will get back one day. We will work for it. It was not easy to reach the final but we are going to do everything we can to win this trophy.”

Why Germany ?!! Read The Secret Answer

Published

on

Science is the overall prespictive

After the historical match between Germany and Brazil in the 2014 World Cup that saw a sweeping 1-7 victory of the Mannschaft over the Brazilians, the German footballers didn’t spend the rest of their time on the streets or over Facebook jubilations.

Analysts began to study and analyse the match statistics … They found it was almost the same as yesterday’s game stats here

Barçelona vs Buyern Game Stats.

This game between Bayern and Barcelona was a turning point as it’s system of analysis didn’t tie with the match statistics. A new era of football match analyses has come to light.

Two German footballers who worked as performance analysts (Reinartz and Keppler) devised an analysis method named (Packing) that depends on the effect of passing the ball … not the number of passes.

In Simplified terms: bypassing the opponents in the direction of the goal

Both have established a performance analysis firm to serve the Bundesliga, then contracted a deal with the German Football Federation itself for all German National teams in 2016.
That is why German football is a show of pragmatism and performance, of course, other factors helped them such as culture, mentality and the quality of players raised up in the Dutch environment.
Shall we note that, in 2017 only one year after applying this method with the Dutch junior National teams, Germany won three trophies in the same year:

  • The European Junior Championships
  • The European Youth Championship
  • The FIFA Confederations Cup with U21 Squad

A second question thus comes to mind

Why do they produce outstanding results especially when playing against “sexy football teams” like Brasil or Barçelona ?

It’s simply because the teams which tend to dominate and open the game are the easiest to defeat as compared to teams which rely on a block squad (packing). Teams which have an open game system provide space and time for the German “Packing” system to move and make the most efficient decisions in effective ball passing.

The games (Brazil vs Germany or Barcelona vs Bayern) are  good exercises to understand the “Packing” analysis technique.

Juventus: Maurizio Sarri sacked after Champions league failure

Published

on

Maurizio Sarri

Italian manager Maurizio Sarri has been relieved of his duty as the head of the technical bench of Juventus following the club’s early elimination from the UEFA Champions league. This is according to the club.

The Old Ladies were knocked out by Olympic Lyonnais at the round of 16 despite a 2-1 win on Friday August 7, 2020 that appeared insufficient for the night as the visitors sailed through on away goal formalities following a 1 nil victory in February.

Sarri’s dismissal hasn’t come as a surprise to many. With the simple reason. The match outcome against Lyon came as a huge sign of failure for the club whose main target this season was winning the Champions League, a fit they are still to achieve since 1996 when they last grabbed silver ware in the competition. Reasons amongst other that saw the club bringing in 5 times Balloon D’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo to help facilitate the task.

Maurizio Sarri therefore served as the main victim and sacrifice despite helping the club win its 9th consecutive Series A title a few weeks ago.

Sarri who has also managed Chelsea and Napoli had earlier explained his difficulty of having the players adapt to his system which he considers to be “Slow” especially after losing to Lyon in France.

The club have recorded series of unconvincing scores after the Coronavirus restart. They have gathered 7 wins in their last 15 matches. Managing to win the league with a point above runners-up, Inter Milan

A few names have come up as potential replacement. Amongst them, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino who is still to join a club since his dismissal by the Spurs in 2019 and Zinedine Zidane.
