UNIFFAC: U20 lions hold last training session in Cameroon

The baby lions are expected to leave the country on Monday morning

The U20 lions of Cameroon have had their last training session in the country, ahead of their departure to Malabo, where they will take part in the upcoming UNIFFAC tournament.

Coach Ousmanou Christophe and his boys trained on Sunday morning at the CAF Excellence center in Mbankomo, and are expected to leave the country on Monday morning for Malabo, Equatorial, via the Douala International airport.

The U20 lions trained in Mbankomo on Sunday, ahead of their departure to Malabo.

U20 lions trainer Ousmanou Christophe had called to camp 28 players, who have been training for about two weeks now in Mbankomo. The team played a friendly game last Thursday, where they defeated cameroon league one side, Tonnerre Kalara Club 3#1, with a brace from Alioum Moubarak and a goal from Nchindo John Bosco.

The UNIFFAC tournament will run from the 15 to 22nd of December, 2020, with games to be played at the Estadio de Malabo and the Estadio de Rebola, all in Equatorial Guinea.

The baby lions are in group B of the tournament, alongside DR Congo and Congo Brazzaville. Group A has host Equatorial Guinea, Chad and central Africa Republic.

The opening game will pit Equatorial Guinea vs Chad on Tuesday as from 1:30pm at the Estadio de Malabo, before Cameroon takes on DR Congo later at 4:30pm.

The six nation zonal tournament serves as qualifiers for the U-20 Africa Cup of nations #AFCON scheduled for Mauritania next year.
