Vipers Sc returns to the summit after a 1 all draw with Maroons fc.

Azam Uganda Premier League:
Maroons fc 1 – 1 Vipers Sc
Express fc 0 – 0 Proline fc
Vipers Sc made a short trip across town to Luzira Prisons facing Coach Asaph Mwebaze’s Maroons fc.
The venoms came into this fixture needing a win to bolster their chances of winning this years championship but Maroons had different ideas all together.
After some early exchanges, Dan Sserunkuma found some spaces in Maroons defence line and slotted the ball past goalkeeper Ashadu Bugembe putting Vipers in front in the 24th minute.
This was the on-form striker’s 10th goal of the season and he looked to have decided this tie but Maroons tactician Asaph Mwebaze made some changes which changed the whole dynamics of the game.
With the clock ticking, Maroons opted for only route on, attack, attack anf attack. This was evident as defender Ayiko Richard was replaced by Patrick Gonahasa.
This suffocated the venoms backline and eventually Solomon Walusimbi hit Vipers where it hurts most in the 77th minute. It was his second against Vipers this season after scoring against them in the first round.
The draw saw Vipers climb on top of the log with 36 points same as Sc Villa but with more goals scored and a superior head to head.
In another match played at Wankulukuku, the battle out of relegation ensued but Express fc and Proline fc fired blanks playing to a barren draw.
