WAFU: Black Queens beat Togo 6-0 to cement qualification




Coach Mercy Tagoe side beat Togolese counterparts 6-0 today at the Stade Robert Champroux in the ongoing WAFU tournament in Abijan to book ticket to next phase of the competition.

The Black Queens who effected two changes in their line up against the Female Sparrowhawks were superb to torment the opponents as early as first quarter of the game.

The introduction of U-17 striker and skipper Abdulai Mukarama and Pacey winger, Grace Anima was perfect for the defending chmapions, Ghana. As they opened the scores, having exhibited eye catchy football.

Forward Abdulai Mukarama gave Ghana the lead in a space of three minutes in the first half stoppage time with one sollow drive before break.

Mukarama took the place of Janet Akalachiba Ayieyam.Who started in the Queens opener against Senegal.

The Black Queens despite leading 1-0, begun the second stanza as hungry lions ready to predate. Stupendous ball swinging could not just be the entertaining part for the fans than to add more flame by shaking the net five times.

Alice Kusi scored brace for the Queens in the 53rd and 65th minutes respectively. Mavis Owusu felt uneased having had her name on the score sheet. Asuch put in much effort to also net double for Ghana in the 77th and 85th minute.

Grace Asantewaa runned it up with the sixth goal.Emding the game without conceding.

The win now has Ghana placed top with 6 points.
