WAFU Cup 2019: Benin outplays Guinea with a trilling last minute goal

It was an exciting match end between Guinea and Benin that saw the squirrels of Benin qualify for the Cup competition beating favourites Guinea 2-1.

In a game dominated by Guinea in terms of ball possession, Benin remained realistic and exploited its very few chances. At the 27th minute, Gaston Houngbedji concluded a beautiful combination up front (1-0).
Benin will hold tight on this scoreline and will resist Guinean assaults for the rest of the first half. The second half will be a copy of the first but the last 5 minutes of the game will come to change everything.

Guinea will finally get the equalizer at the 87th minute through a beautiful free kick from substitute Morlaye Sylla. The jubilation will be short-lived as Benin will take on one last deadly offensive which will result in the winning goal from Jerome Bonou who hammered a powerful shot from an unmarked position inside the penalty box at the 93rd minute.
