WCQ Qatar 2022: Mali Players Boycott Training Ahead Of Uganda Clash.

The players of Mali have boycotted training ahead of their last qualifying game against Uganda for unpaid bonuses in their last three matches. 

The eagles of Mali have won four out of five matches, including three consecutive wins against Kenya in a double header,  and a 3-0 win over Rwanda,  but have not received their bonuses for winning these matches.

The players were to train on Friday and Saturday ahead of the clash against Uganda,  but did not show up according to Malian Journalist Drissa Niono.

“Mali players have boycotted training due to unpaid bonuses. They have won three games on the bounce” , African insider tweeted quoting Malian Journalist Drissa Niono.

 

Reports say, the  Malian FA have been involved in back to back meetings with the players but they have been unable to arrive on a positive conclusion.

It should be noted that Mali is one of the four nations to book their place in the third and final round of the African World Cup Qualifiers after a 3-0 win over Rwanda.

Mali play Uganda in their last group game on Sunday November 14,  2021 in Morocco. Mali tops group E with 13 points in five matches.
