The Taifa Stars of Tanzania, led by former Nigerian goalkeeper, Emmanuel Emuneke would be hoping to qualify for the next round of the AFCON tournament at the expense of Algeria, Senegal and Kenya.
Speaking to Tanzanian sports journalist, Mzinga on Eye FM Accra ,he revealed that preparations for the tournament is going very well. According to him, various players from the Tanzanian league have selected by the technical team and official preparation would start next week.
“There would be a friendly game with Egypt in Cairo” he revealed as one of their preparations. According to him, Coach Emuneke has declared the team as under dogs but would do something special. “Senegal would be a challenge to us but when it comes to Algeria and Kenya, we would get six points”.
According to him, Tanzania does not have much experience in the tournament since they last time they featured in the AFCON was in 1980 in Algeria. However, Emuneke has called young players and experience players from the Tanzanian league and outside Tanzania.
According to him, Tanzania are under dogs but with the quality players they have, they can pull a surprise.
