Kenyan national mens football team harambee stars kick started their campaign to win the CECAFA senior challenge on high note after demolishing guest Rwanda 2-0 at the Bukhungu Stadium.

Kariobangi Sharks striker Masoud Juma opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 26th minute, this was after Posta Rangers defender Jokins Atudo was brought down by Rwanda’s Kayumba Sota in the box.

Rwanda were once more caught off guard after Whyvonne Isuza shot was blocked off only to bounce back on AFC Leopards captain Duncan Otieno, who mesmerised fans with a screamer outside the 18 yard box.

Speaking after the match Harambee Stars headcoach Paul Put praised his players on a having a good match, “the match was okay but the playing surface is not okay, we had difficulties playing it”

The coach also added that he his still studying the players inorder to get a playing unit stating that he is yet to get his first 11 players.
