Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic club could miss out on next season champions league qualification due to unpaid dues according to kingfut.com
This comes after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) sent an official letter to the club for unpaid dues.
The new CAF licence system under the new CAF administration has come to stay, as one of its criteria is to ensure that clubs pay their players regularly.
Consequently, any club with unpaid dues will be disqualified and will not take part in the next CAF Interclub Competitions.
Wydad Could be a victim following unpaid dues to Chisom Chikatara, a player who was part of Wydad from 2016 to 2018.
The CAF decision to suspend Wydad is not yet final, but they have been given until the 15th August to pay the player and if the club does not pay the dues, then they will be disqualified from the CAF Champions league next season.
Wydad enjoyed champions league success in 1992 and 2017, but failed to progress in the final of the champions league last season, as they were eliminated by Kaiser chiefs in the semi finals.
