Derby Delight? Chiesa & Rabiot Fuel Juve Hopes Before Inter Showdown

Juventus received a welcome boost as star players Federico Chiesa and Adrien Rabiot are expected to be back in training by mid-week, potentially making them available for the highly anticipated Derby d’Italia against Inter Milan on February 4th.

The Bianconeri’s recent run of form hit a roadblock with a 1-1 draw against Empoli, allowing Inter to reclaim the top spot in Serie A. However, the squad can now look forward to the potential return of two key players who have been sidelined with injuries.

Chiesa hasn’t played since the Coppa Italia victory over Salernitana due to a knee issue, while Rabiot has missed the last three league matches due to muscle problems. Both players are vital cogs in Massimiliano Allegri’s machine, with Chiesa offering attacking flair and Rabiot providing midfield solidity.

Their absence was felt against Empoli, as Juve lacked their usual cutting edge in attack. Moise Kean’s recent departure to Atletico Madrid further emphasizes the importance of Chiesa’s return to bolster the offensive options.

However, Allegri faces a delicate decision regarding the timing of their reintegration. Rushing them back too soon could risk further injury, while delaying their return might affect their match fitness for the crucial clash against Inter.

The Gazzetta dello Sport reports that both players are expected to be back in full training by Wednesday or Thursday, offering them valuable time to regain their sharpness before the Derby d’Italia.

Whether they are thrown straight into the starting lineup remains to be seen.
